Weeks ending Feb 22, 1998 A.D.-
5 Points, KA Vandy, Sports Rock, Chameleon Club, Nashville Cotillion Club
Dear Diary,
5 Points was really cool again except each one of us was murdered independently of each other. Our shady pasts caught up with us and swallowed us whole.
However, we were all able to repurchase our lives through a weird bartering process that involved tibouli. We are all back to normal except for saliva problems.
With lives and spirits(triple play on words) back we headed over to Vandy to play the KA house. Well it was a gas gas gas . They told us we were the best thing since freshly cut greens unless they didn't and I sure as hell wouldn't tell you. Anyway, WE enjoyed it vera much and that's no lie.
This past week was a triple threat of sorts- we bombed in to three venues.
Back at the Sports Rock Cafe with the nefarious Jimmy D we were smacked by a school of flying fish on the way to exams. I mentioned to them that the coast was a couple of hundred miles away and the commotion stopped immediately. Pre-exam jitters. People seem to enjoy us there so we keep bathing in cologne before we get there. That way no one smells anything.
Chameleon Club was wired with the wired. Could we have been there for the 10,000th time? it didn't matter-we had a great time with the folks. A contingent of Oglethorpians came along with the usual Athens, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Tuscaloosa types, not to mention hard-working weekend dilettantes who made the flow flow. We have almost 200 Atlantans on our e-mail list, supporting Atlanta's claim to the second most wired city in the US.
We have played a number of "social" parties over the years here in Nashville. Last nite's Girls Cotillion was the best. They had their Mardi Gras party at the Pub of Love, a majorly swank, skank joint. Lending to the the Faisons undervibe was very cool colored tubing that was an inside version of the outside of the Pompidou Museum in Paris. Sort of endo-exoskeletal. On top of that were some faboo MG decorations the gals had somehow scammed. A VERY festive crowd was there, and we were able to put on a decent show. Constant medical attention and smelling salts helped.
